Genentech Health Equity Innovation Fund RFP

This fund was established in 2019 to invest in game-changing ideas with the potential to transform healthcare and eliminate health inequities for good. The 2024 Health Equity Innovation Fund invites applications focused on measurably and sustainably closing racial and ethnic inequities in healthcare that bring a systemic lens to this work, cutting across multiple outcomes with a focus on root causes.

Yale SPORE in Lung Cancer Career Enhancement Program (CEP) Award

The CEP of the Yale SPORE in Lung Cancer has been established to educate the next generation of investigators committed to translational research in lung cancer. The CEP will provide support of up to $50,000 to promising junior investigators and/or establish investigators who have not previously conducted lung cancer focused research.

The DRP of the Yale SPORE in Lung Cancer provides seed money to investigators to support studies with a strong translational component that have the potential to evolve into, or be incorporated as, a full Yale SPORE in Lung Cancer project. The purpose is also to generate preliminary data or evidence of collaboration for new NCI grant applications.

Understanding Expectancies in Cancer Symptom Management (R01)

This NOFO will solicit mechanistic research that aims to understand how and why expectancy effects occur in a cancer context, elucidate their role in cancer symptom management, and identify patients, symptoms, cancer sites, and contexts in which expectancy effects can be leveraged to improve cancer outcomes.

The Robert A. Winn Career Development Award

The two-year $120,000 award, aimed at increasing the diversity of patients enrolled in clinical trials, is accepting applications from early-stage investigator physicians who are underrepresented in medicine. The program aims to strengthen partnerships between clinical investigators and the communities where their patients reside, with a goal of ultimately engaging a patient population that mirrors the epidemiology of the disease studied.

K12 Calabresi Immuno-Oncology Training Program Scholar Award

The K12 Calabresi award is for junior faculty to enhance research skills beyond the training provided during graduate and postgraduate training. Successful applicants are required to demonstrate a strong commitment to a career in cancer immunology. The two-year IOTP curriculum includes didactic and practical training in basic, translational and clinical aspects of cancer immunology research. The program also includes a required research component (either clinical or bench research, or a combination thereof). Applicants are required to identify a mentor and a provide a research and mentorship proposal.

Chronic Cancer Pain Research RFP

This RFP was designed based on patient needs. It will focus on interventions for the prevention and/or treatment of cancer-related chronic pain. Specifically, the RFP welcome proposals focused on all types of cancer-related chronic pain, including but not limited to post-surgical pain, lymphedema-related pain, chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy, phantom pain, aromatase inhibitor-related joint pain, referred pain and bone metastasis pain.

JH Milstone Fund

JH Milstone will award a grant in 2024 to support early-stage investigators and innovative research that improves understanding of bleeding, thrombosis, or thrombolysis. Yale students, residents, and fellows working with a mentor at Yale; or faculty within first 5 years of appointment, are encouraged to apply.

The research can focus on the genetics, biochemistry or cell biology of coagulation or thrombolysis or on the causes, pathogenesis, diagnosis, or treatment of bleeding and clotting disorders. In the absence of preliminary data, appropriate mentors and/or collaborators are important.

DeLuca Awards Request for Applications

The DeLuca Center for Innovation in Hematology Research was formed thanks to a generous donation by the Fredrick A. DeLuca Foundation.

  • Pilot Award: to support investigators pursuing research in Hematology and to generate preliminary data for new NCI/NIH grant applications. The research should seek to advance our knowledge in Hematologic disorders and to improve patient care, therapies, and outcomes.
  • Career Development Award: to provide early career clinical or laboratory-based investigators in Hematology the opportunity to focus on research to advance patient care, therapies, and outcomes with the ultimate goal to achieve independentsupport for their research from a national agency.

Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network Young Investigator Awards

BCAN's $75,000 Young Investigator Awards support outstanding early-career scientists and clinical cancer researchers who are committed to improving the understanding and treatment of bladder cancer and/or upper tract urothelial cancer. The Patient-Centered Clinical Research Young Investigator Awards (PCC-YIA) support early-career scientists and clinical cancer researchers investigating transformational patient-oriented clinical bladder cancer and/or upper tract urothelial cancer research.

BreastCancer Alliance (BCA) RFPs

Exceptional Project Grant - BCA invites clinical doctors and research scientists at any stage of their careers, including post docs, whose current proposal is focused on breast cancer, to apply for an Exceptional Project Grant. This award recognizes creative, unique and innovative research and is open to applicants at institutions in the contiguous United States. This is a one year grant for a total of $100,000.

Young Investigator Grant - To encourage a commitment to breast cancer research, BCA invites clinical doctors and research scientists who are in the early stages of their careers, including post docs, whose current proposal is focused on breast cancer, to apply for funding for the Young Investigator Grant. This grant is open to applicants at institutions in the contiguous United States. This is a two-year grant for a total of $125,000, with half the grant award being paid out each year.
